I want to transfer to another unit, what’s the process?

Written by DJ Hume

You can transfer to another unit if you meet the following requirements:

  • Residency: You’ve lived in your current unit for at least 6 months.

  • Account Status: Your account is in good standing (no late payments or eviction filings).

  • Unit Condition: Your current unit is well-kept with no damages or housekeeping issues.

  • Transfer Type: Transfers are generally for upgrades (higher rent). Transfers for maintenance reasons or without a rent increase need manager approval.

Fees:

  • Transfer Fee: $200

  • Cleaning Fee: $200

  • Waiver: Either fee can be waived with manager approval.

Step-by-Step Process:

  1. Inspection: Your current unit must pass an inspection before approval.

  2. Approval: Management approves the transfer and processes it in AppFolio.

  3. Move-in/Move-out: You select move-in and move-out dates for your new and current units. A new lease will be drafted for the new unit. Note: No free days are provided between units.
